Flight Suit Formal

So the second night Kenny was home, we went to the squadron's flight suit formal! We were all to wear flight suits and "dress" them up. Thankfully, my friend Beth envisioned my outfit and practically dressed me. Kenny and all of the other JO's decided to wear hawaiian shirts. However, Kenny added a little punch of color with his glow belts.

Beth and I. She wears the jacket, and I wear the pants in the relationship (hehe, jk).

The night ended with dancing and general good times. It was a super fun way to welcome Kenny home and spend time with some of our favorite people here!

HE IS HOME!

Kenny arrived at noon on Thursday! We were so excited to finally get to see each other after two-plus months. Our friends, the Saxtons, came to welcome home Kenny too and got some great pictures!

We have been super busy all weekend, so look for pictures to follow. Thanks for all the prayers for both Kenny and I during this separation. He should be around until about June!

Baby Shower

Last Saturday, I hosted a baby shower for my good friend, Sara who is due the first week in May. She is having a little girl whose name is yet to be determined. We gathered here and ate some good old homemade chicken salad and yummy cupcakes (and fruit and veggies....must be healthy!) It was a joyous afternoon filled with cute gifts for the newest, wee-est Willcox!

Here are some pictures of our afternoon!
Here is the whole gang! Sara's mom and sister even made the trek from Idaho to celebrate the impending arrival. Now I guess I should go back to grading...

BUT the countdown is on... 5.5 days until Kenny comes home!!!

I'll always be blond on the inside...

So the roots were growing in pretty badly, and I quickly realized that maybe it would be fun to go a little more "natural" and a lot less blond! I was a little afraid that Kenny might not recognize me when he comes home. However, I have sent pictures, so hopefully he can get acquainted with my new look!

It is definitely a change, but I am loving it! And hopefully I won't have to do anything but get my haircut from now on! WOOHOOO!

more from the VA visit

I got back from Virginia on Tuesday evening LATE, so this week has been a real blur. However, I wanted to show some pictures of the end of the trip and of my beautiful family!

First, we had EIGHT inches of snow in Richmond. I went to VA hoping for flip flop weather and got fleece hat and big boot weather! We quickly got to playing in the snow and boy was it chilly!

One of the best parts of getting to hang out with Grandmother is getting to eat snow! Maeve got to have two cups of snow!

Then we had to come in and play inside, so we read LOTS.

Maeve even got her "Spanish" out and read it to Doc. I am not sure that he learned anything, but at one point she said, "I dropped my Spanish!" Heaven forbid she drop her Spanish book.

Then before I left, we had to take pictures of the niece and nephew in their little shirts that I made. And they were SUPER cute!

It was a great visit, but boy was I pooped when I got home! Thanks to the Fosters for their hospitality and for letting me come play!
