two people, one dog, and one baby figuring out life in Hawaii

just a few thoughts...

tonight is the first night "alone" and of course I am missing the husband, but I am truly amazed by my friends here in Washington. I have the most amazing friends from college who have loved and supported me through life's trials and tribulations. I never thought I would find those again. And now I have this amazing group of friends here who provide that same support and love! I am just so incredibly blessed by the people in my life who make the transition to deployed world MUCH easier!

So as my husband spends his one night in Hawaii (so jealous!) before going to his final destination, I want to say thanks to all those who support both Kenny and I during these times of separations!

We didn't get a picture this morning before Kenny left, but here is an old school one that is a favorite of mine!

A belated Happy Birthday to my Brother...

Just a little dedication to the man who taught me how to curse, taught me how to beat up boys, and taught me how to never take lip from anyone... my older brother would have been 27 this past Saturday. So for him who would have killed me for such a photo montage... here it is...

Could your passy get any bigger?
Thanks for not dropping me, cool kid :)Everyone needs a little fashion...

And a ride on the vacuum cleaner
And to learn that a Snoopy belt is also a holster for one's gun...
And that being on the water is lots of fun especially when SOMEONE gets seasick...
And that fire safety is important...
And that a bowl cut is always in fashion...
And that when you are REALLY cool, you get to introduce JOHN MCCAIN to your high school...
And that family is important...
And that serving our country is an honor...And to enjoy college...
So thanks for all those lessons...

Love, your little sister aka midget, shortie, and G

Happy 27th Birthday, Bobo!

here are a few pictures from the crazy week...

that I have stolen from friends :)

Our Change of Command dinner was a snazzy evening filled with suits and pretty dresses and a new haircut. I even got my hair backcombed (whatever that means). All I know is that I could put my hands in my hair and make it get bigger and bigger. It was pretty snazzy. :)

Then we had the actual change of Command that Thursday morning in which our husbands were in real uniforms as opposed to their flight suit/pajamas. That always makes a wife swoon - hello, that is why we married them (and because we like them!)

Hope everyone is enjoying a beautiful memorial day!

This past week...

has been CRAZY!
And of course I forgot to snap any pictures of it... woops. I am waiting for pictures from friends to pop up so that I can "steal" them. But I will give you a short synopsis of the week...
Monday:
Work/Haircut/Change of Command Dinner
(awkward conversation, but amazing food)

Tuesday:
I took the kids in my SAT class to the nearest college - Western Washington University which is much more liberal than the school I actually work for! The tour guide was terrible, but it was fun to be back on a college campus and to go to the college bookstore!

Wednesday:
More Work
Friend Sara gives birth to healthy little GIRL!

Thursday:
Change of Command in the AM
Meeting Baby Willcox
Change of Command Party at night

Friday:
Work
Afternoon on a boat "fishing" and seeing seals!

Saturday:
CRASH!

Pictures to come soon hopefully! But we gear up for another week before memorial day festivities!

Hope you all are enjoying a beautiful May!

I just need...

a little bit of these people in my life...

I would like to snuggle between these two.

And I would like to watch Masterpiece Theater with these two...And I'd like to drink corona's with these two...

What can I say? My family is pretty great, and I just kind of miss them...
